Principal Customer Solutions Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority):
Your Day-to-Day:
- Be the technical lead for solution creation, proposals, design, development, and commissioning of Plant Computer and Annunciator systems.
- Develop Large Scale Ovation System Architectures to meet customer needs for long term projects.
- Develop and implement product strategy for new products and/or existing products to new customers/markets. Develop and maintain a product roadmap and manage financial viability of your portfolio of products.
- Work with customer facing organizations, integrate competitive and market intelligence to develop products with strong customer value propositions.
- Develop business cases to justify investments to meet market needs while building and maintaining long term, strategic relationships with customers.
- Analyze needs and develop unique customer solutions to address customer competitiveness and long-term viability.
- Analyze contract requirements and develop project-specific deliverables to enable successful program implementation and to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Lead proposal development teams and oversee complex negotiations with customers to obtain contracts that contribute significant profit margin and revenue growth. Collaborate with project management to develop contract changes.
- Participate in technical meetings (study meetings, Operational Experience, ...) with the customers
- Develop competitor intelligence and develop solutions to beat the competition.
Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies:
Who You Are:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent. Advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong organization and communication skills and a proven history of managing and effectively leading multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams and interfacing with multiple functional groups.
- Demonstrated successful offer development skills in effectively planning, estimating and executing significantly complex projects/programs, including complex contract negotiations with clients.
- Ability to build consultative relationships with customer, operations, maintenance and engineering decision-makers to enhance Westinghouse’s position as premier value-added supplier.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee project activities and opportunity management, conveying feedback on customer satisfaction, needs and opportunities.
- Market development experience (preferred).
- Practical knowledge of Emerson Ovation or other Distributed Control System or Plant Computer system Architectures. Basic Network and Virtual System Architectural abilities.
- Power plant operations and/or maintenance experience (desirable).
- Practical knowledge of regulatory and applicable national / international standards applicable to delivery of I&C systems in the Americas.
- Demonstrated business skills, including consideration of financial impact when making decisions.
- Awareness of and ideally past participation in industry organizations related to implementation of Digital I&C.
- Consistent demonstration of driving for results.
- Willingness and ability to travel to sites in the Americas for customer meetings, walk-downs, outages, vendor meetings, industry conferences, etc. as required.
- Mastery of the office productivity tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, D365, OneNote, and Outlook.
