Physical Security Engineer - Plant Security & Safeguards

Your Day-to-Day:
The position is within the Plant Engineering group in the Global Engineering Services organization. The primary roles within this group are asset protection and physical security design engineering to protect nuclear facilities and material against sabotage, theft, diversion, and other malicious acts. The position provides broad-ranging experience of operating and advanced nuclear plant designs including interfaces with systems, equipment, structures, and physical plant arrangement to develop and implement the safeguards and physical security protection system designs.
- Work on teams that support multiple projects related to design, fabrication, construction, and maintenance of large-scale nuclear and non-nuclear projects with respect to physical security
- Perform physical security assessments of the physical plant arrangement
- Perform evaluations including critical asset development, threat and vulnerability assessments, physical security system computer and electrical design
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and criteria documents
- Help prepare specifications and reports to satisfy applicable regulatory, code, and/or contract requirements
- Provide engineering support to various global organizations regarding asset protection and physical security assessments
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Engineering Degree OR equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience. Typically 3-6.
- A strong motivation to pursue Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and Professional Engineering license (PE)
- Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, time management, and strong problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated with a desire to learn and continually develop. High personal investment in your development, both in terms of technical knowledge as well as leadership
- A capability to embrace work in a highly diverse environment, with team members from different cultures and experiences in integrated global teams, respecting and leveraging each professional’s contribution
- Ability to work effectively both remotely, from home office, as well as from customer site to support customer projects globally
Nice-to-Have:
- Military, Police, or Physical Security background
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- Military, ROTC, etc. experience highly preferred, but not required.
