About the role:
As Mechanical Engineer for Auxiliary Equipment & Valve Engineering, you will perform a variety of engineering work to support design and construction of mechanical power plant equipment, components, systems, for mega-projects or advanced reactors. You will report to the Engineering Manager for Aux Equip. & Valve Engineering.
You will work a hybrid schedule at Westinghouse Global Headquarters in Cranberry Woods, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering to support of design and construction of mechanical power plant equipment, components, systems, for mega-projects or advanced reactors
- Develop pump, valve, heat exchanger and other equipment design for new plant builds or modifications
- Identify problems and propose solutions to projects and tasks
- Support senior engineering personnel in design and analysis efforts
- Make sound technical evaluations to support critical engineering decisions
- Communicate nature and work status to technical leads and management
- Collaborate with internal/external teams like construction, I&C, electrical, and operations
- Participate in customer, vendor, and regulator meetings to present technical materials, justification of services and product designs
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Understanding of Mathcad, MATLAB, or VBA
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $64,800 to $81,000 per year.
