We are searching for a Technical Services Specialist, Assoc. on behalf of our client. This is a 6-month contract assignment. The person will be in the NEM Asset Operations department.

The person in this role will assist Senior Level Physical Real Time Desk trader/operators in overseeing Client and Third Party customer's generation fleet in real-time markets and completing daily recurring shift tasks.


**Schedule is 6am -2 pm Thursday-Friday, 6 am to 6 pm Sat-Sunday.**


Location: Juno Beach, FL


The person in this role would need to have basic knowledge of power generation economics and dispatch characteristics as well as an ability to understand ISO/RTO protocol and market portals in ISO-NE, NYISO, PJM, SERC, SPP, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, WECC, IESO, AESO, and transmission reservation and tagging systems. Strong attention to detail, ability to clearly convey information, and the ability to follow established procedures is a must.


Responsibilities

  • Checklist items (Daily)
  • Verify tag updates are active and current x5 tags
  • PJM Battery Offer (7 day out). PJM/MISO/SPP Morning reports
  • Evaluate Regulation Performance, alert traders to any score issues (<0.80)
  • Pullback ERCOT COP – verify no missing data over the next 7 days
  • Pullback ERCOT TPO – verify no mismatches
  • Reboot 2 monitoring stations
  • Ensure all tools are up to date and refreshing with Hydra logged in (9 Excel tools + 1 web, 1 Excel)
  • Check THREE-DAY SYSTEM DEMAND FORECAST (> 15,500)
  • Remove Casco & make communications if necessary
  • Review morpheus & HSL overrides – reset inactive overrides to 0, validate any active overrides.
  • Checklist items (Weekend)

  • Checklist items ensuring offer emails sent out (Lightstone, ISONE Solar)
  • Ensure DA trader is notified and approves any out of tolerance demand ratios (>10%)
  • Periodically throughout the day
  • Verify monitoring tools are refreshing and current (Monitoring center and ERCOT monitor)
  • Ad Hoc
  • ROCC calls
  • Unit Ticket updates & communications to customers/DA teams
  • Battery offer/ticket updates
  • Send Advisory/Market notifications
  • Assist with trader requests as needed
  • Undeliverable email cleanup/email update requests

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad/GED
  • Bachelor’s: Completed or On Track (Substantial completion), or Equivalent Experience
  • Ability to act in a fast paced-environment
  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shift (Dupont Schedule)
  • Effective Oral and Written Communications
  • MS Office Suite (Intermediate Level Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's – Engineering
  • Bachelor's - Business Administration
  • Generator operator or Control Center Experience
  • Experience: 1+ years
