We are searching for a Solar Engineering Project Manager on behalf of our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. An ideal candidate with versatile in technical skills, business acumen, and innovation. The successful candidate will spearhead strategic initiatives and innovative projects that improve project value for their continuous growing renewables portfolio. We are looking for a candidate who can proactively identify opportunities, work diligently to assess ideas that are feasible and lead internal and external teams to evaluate, pilot and implement innovations.


Location: Juno Beach, FL.

Per diem available: GSA


We are interested in candidates with experience in DC and AC collection design methodologies for projects larger than 75MWs for Solar. Candidates with first-hand experience of the construction and/or commissioning of these types and size projects are highly desirable. The person would be a proactive problem solver with exceptional management skills in multidisciplinary teams.


Responsibilities

  • Taking the lead on identifying opportunities for new architecture, technologies, products, and installation means and methods.
  • Conducting comprehensive research on industry trends and technology forecasts to make impactful recommendations for the company.
  • Serve as the contact, leading collaborations, and planning with various stakeholders, including internal teams, external engineering and construction firms, and suppliers to drive solutions.
  • Conducting thorough evaluations, ensuring product/service accuracy and usability, and quantifying technical and financial value.
  • Developing concise presentations to articulate the process, value, and impact of initiatives to project and technology managers, and executives.
  • Leading and/or facilitating initiatives into process standards for future implementation.
  • May work across other renewable technologies as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • 7+ Years of experience in solar balance of system design, relation with top tier equipment suppliers, understanding of technology, standards, and market intelligence.
  • A proven record of accomplishment of taking initiative, demonstrating foresight, creativity, and mature judgment in guiding engineering design architecture at a component-level, project-level, and portfolio level.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen complemented by proficient technical skills.
  • Must have competency in using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Must have exceptional communicative abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Must have a sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks and projects.

Additional desired qualifications:

  • Utility-scale renewables experience.
  • A master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, civil, or chemical engineering.
  • Relevant commissioning or construction experience.
