Position No. 1035
Temporary Full -Time until 30 April 2027 (with potential for extension)
Band 8 - $117,024 - $131,128, plus 12% statutory superannuation (with potential for over award payment and use of a Council vehicle)
This position offers hybrid work-from-home arrangements with flexible workplace locations in Sale, Yarram and Leongatha and offers the opportunity to deliver legacy regional planning outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the preparation of the Renewable Energy Land and Infrastructure Plan that will support major investment and long‑term community benefit.
In this role, you will:
- Lead the preparation of the Renewable Energy Land and Infrastructure Plan in partnership with consultants, Councils and key stakeholders across Gippsland.
- Project manage multidisciplinary consultants to deliver high‑quality outputs on time, within budget and in line with statutory and Council requirements.
- Coordinate strategic planning for land, housing, and social and physical infrastructure to support major renewable energy investment, including offshore wind.
- Manage complex stakeholder engagement, working closely with government agencies, industry proponents, Traditional Owners, Councillors and local communities.
- Provide high‑level strategic advice, reporting and briefings to Council, executive leadership and project governance groups.
- Identify, manage and resolve project risks and issues, ensuring long‑term community outcomes and legacy regional planning benefits are achieved.
About you:
- You are an experienced Project Manager with strong capability in strategic planning, infrastructure planning and governance within a local government or public sector environment.
- You have a sound understanding of the Victorian planning system, including Planning Scheme Amendments.
- You bring demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders in a multidisciplinary setting.
- You are a confident communicator, able to prepare clear reports and present complex information to a wide range of audiences.
- You have strong financial and contract management skills, including oversight of consultant performance and budgets.
- You are motivated by delivering meaningful regional outcomes and are excited by the opportunity to shape Gippsland’s renewable energy transition.
