Social Media & Content Specialist
Volunteer for a startup turning agricultural waste into carbon-sequestering biochar! ?
Reclimate converts agricultural and forestry residues into biochar to remove carbon from the atmosphere while restoring soil health and increasing farmer incomes across Southeast Asia.
Throughout the Global South, massive amounts of agricultural waste are openly burned, contributing to air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions while rapidly depleting soil quality. Farmers are often trapped between rising chemical fertilizer costs and a lack of sustainable waste management options. Meanwhile, the global market faces a critical shortage of durable, verifiable carbon removal solutions that can be effectively scaled in emerging economies to meet corporate climate goals.
Reclimate addresses these interconnected issues by deploying decentralized biochar production systems that transform low-value waste streams into stable, sequestered carbon capable of staying in the soil for thousands of years. We partner directly with plantation owners and rural farmers to integrate biochar as a powerful soil amendment, reducing their dependency on expensive fertilizers and improving long-term land productivity through regenerative practices. By combining a digital MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) platform for precise tracking with a strong network of corporate partners for carbon credit monetization, we turn climate action into a vital new revenue stream for local communities. This model creates a scalable, economically viable pathway for carbon removal that aligns immediate climate impact with long-term agricultural resilience.
