Job Overview
Are you passionate about building sustainable food systems in Europe? Join WBCSD as an Intern within the OP2B team, where you will gain hands-on experience at the intersection of business, agriculture, and sustainability. You will support the OP2B’s landscape action workstream in facilitating collaboration between some of Europe’s major food and agriculture businesses in co-investing into regenerative agriculture in European landscapes. This dynamic role provides the opportunity to develop innovative mapping tools, coordinate multistakeholder landscape-scale projects focused on regenerative agriculture, and engage with global business leaders working towards a more resilient food system. We are looking for a motivated and creative team player eager to make a positive difference and grow their career in private sector sustainability transitions.
Main Responsibilities
The Intern will report to OP2B’s Associate for Co-investment partnerships. They will be responsible for supporting the coalition’s shaping and coordination of its partnership with the Future Fit Dairy Initiative and the implementation of OP2B’s financing structure for the East of England.
- Support the delivery of a co-funding financing model implementation project for regenerative agriculture in the East of England: Lead delivery of core deliverables and funding documentation back to the public funding body. Coordinate member updates and engagement with the pilot program's advancement. Engage with implementing partners to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Support the delivery of OP2B’s partnership with the Future Fit Dairy Initiative, focused on understanding the conditions that need to be in place for regenerative dairy transitions to maintain farmer profitability and sustainable business models for corporates: Carry-out desk research on existing dairy farming support programs and finance instruments farmers have access to in North-West Europe. Support the conducting of stakeholder interviews, namely with finance sector experts including but limited to debt providers, insurance and impact investors. Advance the validation of recommendations with corporate entities and financial institutions via the organization of a series of dialogues.
- Communications: Support technical inputs and speaker briefs for representing OP2B’s landscape transition finance work at key events.
- Member Engagement: Support preparations for meetings with member companies and stakeholders and provide briefings and analyses of members’ input during key meetings.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences
- Educational background: Currently enrolled in/holding a Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, agribusiness, sustainable agriculture, sustainable development, or related fields. Master’s degree and/or food/agriculture/finance industry experience is desirable.
- Strong command of financial terminology and concepts.
- Project Management & Multitasking: Able to support day-to-day project activities to achieve deliverables, consistently meet project goals, solve problems, and manage tasks efficiently.
- Collaboration and Cooperation: Capable of listening, consulting, and communicating effectively with multiple colleagues. Collaborative team player who relates well to people at all levels.
- Writing and Reporting: Writes clearly, succinctly, and convincingly.
- Fluency in both written and conversational English.
The position is fixed-term for six months, based in Amsterdam, and does not require international travel. The intended start date for this position is the 3rd of August 2026.
