? Software Engineer (Python) | Climate Tech | London (Hybrid)

We’re working with a high-growth startup building the infrastructure powering the next generation of energy systems.

If you’re excited by real-world impact, ownership, and solving complex problems at scale — this is one to take a look at.

⚡ The Opportunity

This is a product-focused engineering role where you’ll be building systems that directly influence how energy is used, stored, and distributed. You’ll be working on software that connects to real-world devices, orchestrates them intelligently, and helps optimise energy usage based on cost and sustainability. It’s fast-paced, hands-on, and genuinely impactful work.

? What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building backend systems in Python that power core platform functionality
  • Working across product, data, and infrastructure — not siloed into one lane
  • Owning problems end-to-end, from idea through to production
  • Collaborating with users, clients, and stakeholders to shape solutions
  • Shipping quickly and iterating based on real-world feedback

?️ Tech Environment

  • Python-first backend environment
  • Cloud-based infrastructure (GCP)
  • Containerised systems (Docker)
  • Strong collaboration between engineers and data teams

? What They’re Looking For

  • Strong backend engineering experience (Python preferred)
  • Someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys solving messy, real-world problems
  • Product mindset — thinking beyond code to impact
  • Comfortable taking ownership and moving quickly
  • Interest in climate, energy, or building meaningful technology
  • ? Why It’s Worth a Look

    • Work on a genuinely important problem space (energy + climate)
    • High ownership, low bureaucracy environment
    • Competitive salary (£90k-£120k) + meaningful equity
    • Hybrid working (London-based, 2–3 days onsite)
    • Small, ambitious team where your work directly matters

If you’re the kind of engineer who enjoys building things that actually make a difference — this is a great opportunity to step into that environment.
