The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enterprising, visionary, and impact-oriented Business Development Professional to architect and lead the WOTR Consulting Forum (WCF)- a bold new initiative that brings WOTR’s over three decades of on-ground engagement and research-backed expertise into the world of strategic consulting and hands-on technical advisory support.
In this role, you will:
- Build business to achieve financial goals by acquiring and onboarding new corporate partnerships, industry partners, nurturing strong relationships, and ensuring programmes funding.
- Collaboration thus this role involves collaborating with corporates, industry, and partners to enhance satisfaction with organization’s program delivery. As well as, collaborates with program teams to identify gaps and leverage relationships and opportunities to secure necessary support.
- Articulate and drive the strategic vision for WCF in alignment with WOTR’s legacy and values while responding to market needs and opportunities.
- Build and lead a top-tier leadership team, nurturing a culture of collaboration, ownership, and excellence.
- Establish WCF as a leading provider of climate-smart, environment-and-sustainability-aligned advisory solutions respected for its technical depth, contextual relevance, and execution capability.
- Drive and ensure WCF’s financial sustainability within a defined timeframe, while upholding its social and environmental ethos.
- Create scalable offerings and systems that enable WCF to grow its footprint across geographies and sectors.
- Engage with key stakeholders—from businesses and governments to donors and policy makers—positioning WCF as a trusted partner in sustainability transitions.
- Lead innovation and productization of services that combine grounded experience with data-insights, digital tools, and forward thinking.
- Operate with autonomy and accountability, reporting directly to the WCF Board and working in close alignment with WOTR/ W-CReS’ leadership to ensure synergies across implementation, research, and consulting.
What you should have:
- Education: Post-graduate degree required; MBA or equivalent in Business Administration, Strategy, or a related field preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Minimum 10 years of executive leadership experience with a strong track record in profitable business growth and operational excellence.
- Revenue & Market Expansion: Proven ability to drive business acquisition, investor relations, and business development; market experience preferred.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, negotiation and salesman skills to engage corporate leaders, investors, and key decision-makers.
- Strategic Execution: Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with a results-oriented approach to driving organizational success.
- Global Business Mindset: Passion for scaling operations, expanding market reach, and positioning the business as an industry leader.
- Compliance with regulatory standards, while managing accurate and timely reporting for all fundraising/business activities.
