Job Description


Your mission during this flight:

As a Compliance Verification Engineer Avionics, you will be part of the Office of Airworthiness, aligning the certification approach with EASA and verifying that the VoloCity Avionics design is meeting the requirements for certification.

  • You assist the Avionics Engineering Team in design choices and test planning with a focus on potential certification risks
  • You prepare and conduct meetings with authorities to consent on the certification strategy and appropriate Means of Compliance
  • You drive the Certification Program hands-on for Avionics aspects in close collaboration with Airworthiness Engineers and the Engineering Department
  • You report certification risks and potential mitigations in the respective field to the Head of Airworthiness
  • You formally verify compliance in the field of the VoloCity Type Certification
  • You have appropriate, hands-on participation in rulemaking activities in the field of VTOL Avionics design

Qualifications


Check in your professional skills:

  • Master's Degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, communications engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in aerospace development projects with involvement in certification activities, ideally already as a nominated CVE or equivalent such as DER
  • Detailed knowledge of certification processes (Part 21) and requirements under EASA (CS-23, CS-25, CS-27, CS-29, ideally also SC-VTOL)
  • Knowledge of certification deliverables according to DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254 in line with the ARP4754A framework
  • Ideally prior participation in standardization or rulemaking activities such as EUROCAE, ASTM, etc.
  • Excellent command of the English language
