Project Engineer, Thermal Management (remote)

Estimated Duration: 12 months with possible extensions.

Work Setting: Remote; Juno Beach, FL is preferred.

Expertise in thermal management for energy storage systems, including one or more of: hydronic HVAC, air‑cooled HVAC, battery heat generation/dissipation, or BESS design
Experience with VRF, hydronic, and air‑side HVAC systems
Experience with energy storage technologies, including battery chemistries, power conversion units, and DC/DC converters
Experience with relevant safety standards: UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, and applicable IFC/IBC sections

Evaluate design aspects of major components for utility‑scale energy storage projects
Prepare technical scopes of work for thermal management studies and designs for incorporation into contract documents
Support projects from conception through commissioning, including on‑site commissioning activities
Provide engineering guidance to project teams and oversee external Engineers of Record
Collaborate with suppliers on equipment sizing, controls, technology compatibility, and integration
Partner with multi‑disciplined teams on problem solving, system integration, and process improvement
Identify value engineering opportunities and track emerging technologies
