Overview

A leading, well-capitalized renewable energy platform is seeking a Senior Manager of Strategic Procurement to take ownership of high-voltage equipment sourcing across a growing portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects.

This individual will lead category strategy, supplier engagement, and commercial negotiations, playing a central role in optimizing cost, managing risk, and ensuring successful execution across development and construction phases.

What You’ll Do

  • Own end-to-end sourcing strategy for high-voltage equipment, including transformers, substations, and related infrastructure
  • Lead competitive sourcing processes, supplier selection, and contract execution across multiple projects
  • Negotiate commercial terms with OEMs, EPCs, and key vendors, balancing cost, schedule, risk, and performance
  • Oversee active supplier agreements, including coordination of logistics, quality assurance, storage, and compliance-related scopes
  • Translate market conditions, project requirements, and supply chain constraints into clear procurement strategies
  • Provide structured recommendations to leadership on vendor selection, pricing dynamics, and risk exposure
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, acting as the primary commercial point of contact
  • Track and analyze supply chain trends across the high-voltage equipment market to inform forward-looking decisions
  • Support development teams with procurement insights, including cost modeling and total cost of ownership analysis
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, construction, development, and legal teams to align on execution strategy
  • Identify and implement process improvements, tools, and systems to enhance procurement efficiency and scalability

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of procurement experience, with at least 2+ years focused on high-voltage electrical equipment
  • Background supporting utility-scale energy projects (wind, solar, storage strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated success leading complex commercial negotiations involving technical and contractual considerations
  • Experience managing categories with multi-dimensional complexity (technical, logistical, and financial)
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical inputs and translate them into business decisions
  • Familiarity with U.S. power markets and the lifecycle of large-scale energy project development
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and standard business tools
