Mission

This role exists to power Viridi’s mission of delivering low-emission energy solutions by operating and maintaining critical RNG infrastructure. As part of a three-person team in a startup-phase facility, the Plant Operator directly impacts safety, uptime, and environmental success. This is a leadership-through-action opportunity for those who want to be part of something built from the ground up — and grow with it.

Performance Objectives

  • Commission the Facility – Support final-stage construction, install, and test key systems to safely bring the Marathon RNG site online by Q2 2025.
  • Own Daily Operations – Conduct daily rounds, monitor system parameters, identify anomalies, and execute first-echelon troubleshooting to ensure optimal gas processing.
  • Safeguard Quality and Safety – Execute preventive maintenance, perform calibrations, and ensure all systems meet compliance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Operate with Independence and Integrity – As part of a small team, manage tasks across operations, logistics, and basic maintenance with minimal oversight.
  • Contribute to a High-Trust Team – Build rapport with a Marine and a Navy vet in a tight-knit, high-performance environment where reliability and communication are everything.
  • Prepare for Growth – Learn the systems, support the expansion of site capability, and become promotable to Operator II/III and beyond.

Fit Traits

  • Leadership: Demonstrates initiative and accountability; trusted to make judgment calls during remote operation or on-call rotation.
  • Service: Mission-first mindset; comfortable stepping in where needed — from monitoring control systems to accepting supply deliveries.
  • Growth: Seeks long-term development within a company expanding nationwide; thrives in ambiguity and transition.

Requirements

  • Must have served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Reserves, or U.S. National Guard.
    • High school diploma or GED
    • 2+ years in manufacturing, logistics, energy, or technical operations
    • Strong mechanical/electrical systems understanding; able to perform low-level PMs and system calibrations
    • Comfortable with basic computer usage and SCADA systems
    • Valid driver's license and ability to work in varied environments (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold, tight/uneven spaces)
    • Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and safely handle chemical materials with PPE

    Preferred

    • Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification
    • Experience in landfill, RNG, natural gas, or similar process plant operations

    Benefits

    • Competitive salary (commensurate with experience and operator level)
      • Paid on-call stipend (1 in 3 rotation)
      • Monday–Friday day shift with remote-monitoring capabilities
      • Full health, dental, and retirement package
      • Professional development pathway from Operator I to Plant Manager
      • Culture of veteran leadership, mentorship, and growth
