The Quality Technician I is responsible for assuring quality to the customer by completing Quality activities/projects as assigned. Assists with ISO-9001 maintenance activities that include; generating/revising documentation, performing internal audits, issuing corrective action requests and leading continuous improvement activities.


Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards
  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability
  • Handle calibration of tools
  • Perform Material Review Board (MRB) meeting and collaborates with applicable personnel for parts disposition.
  • Support Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) and Control Plan activities.
  • Ensure Non-Standard Work events are accurately performed and tracked. Identifies problem areas and works for resolution.
  • Support root cause analysis activities and take action to resolve and prevent issues.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of the Quality Data Analysis (QDA) system for production include new user or feature training. Handles QDA access request based on user roles.
  • Supports process and system audits as required by the Quality Management System in support of ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Maintain controlled documentation as required. Assure documentation matches the quality processes.
  • Understands the Non Conformance (NC) process from creation to closure following the Vestas NC process.
  • Involvement in new and on-going Quality projects is required. Must be able to provide training to employees on new/revised processes and measurement equipment.
  • Look for ways to increase efficiency within the processes of the Quality Department and communicate improvement ideas. Be open to change, lead, support and participate on Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Support the generation and reporting of quality metrics (CTQs/KPIs).
  • Lead/support activities as defined by Quality Engineers.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Training, and Skills Required:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Familiarity with Quality Control processes and quality software systems (QDA)

  • Experience with SAP for creating and handling Non-Conformances (NCs)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Knowledge of internal systems and Document Management System (DMS) for document control

  • Familiarity with blade repair processes is preferred but not required

  • Ability to search for batch lot traceability, material receiving, and backflushing (desired)

  • Strong natural ability to work in teams, high degree of adaptability & flexibility, strong desire to learn new skills & knowledge, excellent work ethic, dependability & dedication to team/company, personal desire/value to produce quality work, and ability/desire to work as a craftsman with hand tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Available Shift: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Saturday from 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM

Pay range: $25 - $30 per hour
