Specialist - Finish & Paint Tooling Engineer - Taranto, Italy
We are looking for a Specialist – Finish & Paint Tooling Engineer to join our Blades Process Engineering team in Taranto.
In this role, you will contribute to the development, specification, and optimization of tooling solutions for Finish & Paint processes in blade manufacturing. You will support supplier management, CAPEX planning, and maintenance strategies, applying continuous improvement tools to secure process stability, efficiency, and quality in line with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
Responsibilities
- Design and optimize tooling for Finish & Paint processes.
- Define tooling functional requirements and specifications.
- Support tool industrialization and standardization.
- Ensure tooling delivery and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Contribute to service and maintenance strategies, including EAM.
- Support supplier management and CAPEX planning.
- Optimize existing tools in use today.
- Investigate and resolve production issues using structured problem-solving (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen to drive efficiency, waste reduction, and quality.
- Be part of a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
- Training in Lean and/or Six Sigma.
- 6–8 years of experience in tooling engineering or related roles.
Proven background in:
- Tool development and requirement specifications
- Maintenance plan definition
- Tooling projects and optimization
- Supplier collaboration support
- Data-driven process analysis and improvements
Competencies
- Ability to develop or specify tooling for Finish & Paint processes, including quality control and inline measurement systems.
- Understanding of automation in manufacturing processes for improved product quality.
- Familiar with CE marking, local safety standards, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
- Experience in root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving in production environments.
- Knowledge of composite materials (paints, fiberglass, epoxy resins, coatings) is an advantage.
- Skilled in data-driven decision-making.
- Hands-on in applying 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA.
- Collaborative and proactive in cross-functional projects.
- Strong organizational discipline, self-motivation, and results orientation.
- Capable of building a broad international network across cultures and time zones.
- Customer-focused and able to understand the full business value chain.
- Willing to spend time in the factory environment to solve problems.
- Committed to continuous learning.
