Responsibility
As a Operational Support Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in improving the Handling and Logistics processes for wind turbine blades pats and whole blades. If you do not have a deep knolled withing Handling & Transport of blades, you will have high motivation to get it. Your improvements shall support process stability and capability to improve overall business performance; Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC).
Your main responsibilities:
- Facilitate continuous improvement on Handling and Transport processes across the manufacturing sites.
- Analysis of AS IS and future state and be motivated to improve activities
- Create and maintain a plan for improvement
- Create the needed Engineering Change Notices (CN’s)
- Leading improvement tasks / projects
- Case handler on an escalation process, used when factories cannot progress the production – meaning it is both urgent and most of the time critical to get solved fast.
- Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility
- Investigating and solving production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys, Fishbone Diagrams.
- Applying continuous improvement principles using quality tools like and Lean.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineer or alike
- GB Lean
Experience:
- About 6-8 years of experience in similar roles as described above
Worked with:
- Leading improvement tasks
- Analyses Handling & Logistic processes
- Transport tool specification
- Process flow creation
- Focused on optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes with use of the toolbox also mentioned above.
Core competences:
- A blend of technical, analytical, and operational competencies tailored to Handling & Transport and continuous improvement.
- Skills in process design and optimization related to Handling & Transport.
- You are interested and willing to spend time in the factory environment as required to understand and solve problems
- Data-Driven Decision Making, use of data analytics tools such as lean.
- Use of tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve Handling or Logistic issues.
- You are self-motivated; result-oriented and possess great organizational discipline
- You find it exciting and interesting to work with other people in a large organization and can build up an intensive network across cultures and time zones and work with stakeholders
- You are customer-oriented and can understand the complete business value chain seen from a customer perspective
- You are committed to learning
