Welcome to Operational Quality in Offshore Construction

You will be part of our Operational Quality team which comprises a team of highly motivated colleagues, supporting project execution of offshore wind turbines across the globe, with our focus being on the Asia Pacific region.


In addition to project execution, our team also supports the rest of Vestas' value chain with our knowledge of construction projects and consequently, many of our tasks also require cross-organisational collaboration.


Responsibilities

Together with the project team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure all aspects of project certification across the value chain including assessment and tracking of project certification status against contractual requirements.


Dependent on the project requirements, you will also develop or support all legal and contractual requirements and deliverables relating to project certification.

With your high level of coordination and communication skills, you will coordinate all project certification-related communication and information exchange with employers, authorities and certifying bodies and professional engineers.


With your broad knowledge and professional qualifications, you are able to understand the requirements from local and governmental bodies towards project certification.


Your tasks will include:

  • Preparing project certification plans for agreed projects;

  • Ensuring that project certification deliverables are in place in a timely manner and with the right level of quality;

  • Managing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation and deliverables related to project certification;

  • Being a single point of contact for project certification towards certifying bodies and customers;

  • Reporting and escalating issues towards line management and project management;

  • Advising on global project certification requirements and their effective implementation;

  • Where required, preparing and negotiating contracts with certifying bodies, authorities and other third parties in the field of certification;

  • Reviewing tender requirements for project certification;

  • Creating and rolling out of Vestas' project certification process;

  • Educating project certification stakeholders about project certification and expected deliverables;

  • Maintaining necessary interface relations e.g., Type Certification team, SQD, Sales Quality, Manufacturing, etc.


Qualifications

We expect that you have a project management background from an engineering or construction environment. You have a deep knowledge of project certification combined with solid negotiation skills. You are persistent, structured and organised and you can create an open and trustworthy communication with your stakeholder base. We expect you to have good planning skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a growing, changing environment.


Competencies

We expect that you have

  • a project manager background from a complex engineering environment;

  • deep knowledge of project certification;

  • experience with type certification of wind turbines;

  • good communication and English skills;

  • a high level of knowledge regarding complex contract evaluation;

  • specialist knowledge within legal and project certification laws and standards e.g., BSH Standard in Germany, DNV GL Service Specification: DNV GL-SE-0074, IEC Standard: ECR OD 502 or Professional Engineers Act in Taiwan;

  • experience with multiple stakeholder management at all levels;


Furthermore, we expect that you are

  • able to work effectively in a team environment where work requires collaboration and interdependence on others, often in an intercultural context.
