The Documentation Department within Bonding is responsible for creating and updating production documentation, including Production Work Instructions (PWI), Process and Product Inspection (PII) documents, and maintaining generic inspections in our QDA system standards. The department also ensures proper maintenance of PFMEA, working closely with process engineers for accurate input.

The Documentation team will consist of 2–4 engineers dedicated to bonding processes and is part of the wider Bonding Department of 10–16 highly skilled engineers. The department is structured into five teams: Process, Tooling, Documentation, Operational Support, and Training.


Responsibilities

You will play a key role in improving the manufacturing processes for wind turbine blades via the quality of the documentation. If you do not have a deep knolled withing Blades manufacturing principles, you will have a high motivation to get it – go to shopfloor. You will have a focused approach to modern documentation principles and technologies, drive towards standardization to ensure fast updates or creation of documentation to shopfloor all to secure process stability and capability to improve overall business performance; Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC)


  • Create and update shop floor documentation (workers, quality, and process teams) within Bonding operations
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant with established principles and quality standards
  • Collect feedback from shop floor and bonding teams to continuously improve documentation quality and usability
  • Develop clear structures in documentation, including control points, tolerances, and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with other documentation teams to align standards and share best practices
  • Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone)
  • Apply continuous improvement principles (Lean, Kaizen) and support modern digital documentation systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field
  • GB Lean certification
  • Courses in technical writing or communication
  • Around 10 years of experience in similar roles within manufacturing documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to create process flows and establish/maintain work instructions (paper or digital), with an extensive background in developing shop floor documentation
  • Experience with validation of documentation and knowledge of control plans
  • Demonstrated experience in enhancing and standardizing manufacturing documentation through the use of organized tools in data-focused environments

Competencies

  • Proficient writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information
  • Technical knowledge and the ability to translate shop floor processes, machinery, or software systems into clear, user-friendly documentation
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all documentation
  • Willingness to spend time in the factory environment to fully understand processes and support problem-solving
  • Experience with problem-solving and improvement tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, FMEA, and Kaizen
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and well-organized, with effective collaboration skills across teams and cultures
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development in an evolving work environment
