This role is a part of Vestas Blades manufacturing. It is characterized as a co-located & Process-Engineering Focused on Expertise. An organization that embeds engineering expertise directly into the manufacturing value stream and enables faster decision-making and deeper process ownership and Knowledge. The department is a Process driven business model with the following departments : Layup, Infusion, Bonding, Handling & Logistics, Finish & Paint and a central based function within Technical Integration. The Process teams are distributed around our Manufacturing sites. The New Blades Process Engineering VP reports to the SVP, for Blades Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- In your role as Director for the Root System manufacturing process team, your responsibilities will be:
- Analysis of AS IS and future state and build, maintain and implement strategy Plan for the area
- Performance Management of Process arear including defining and KPI and PI and Competence Center within the process area
- Responsible for Kaizen events within the area
- Embeds engineering skills directly into the manufacturing value stream and enables faster decision-making and deeper Infusion process ownership and Knowledge
- Develop and maintain standardized manufacturing processes and tooling solutions and deliver user focused manufacturing documentation to the factories
- Ensures repeatability and scalability across internal and external sites and attracts skilled engineering talent with deep technical expertise.
- Engage and collaborate with relevant colleagues and business stakeholders, and ensure your employees do the same, all to solve operational issues and problems with speed and quality, and to develop your area of expertise
Qualifications
- Master of Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or alike
- + 10 years of experience working with Mass production products with end-to-end Process and Product understanding
- + 5 years as a leader for a team of technical specialists within engineering, or other highly skilled employees
- GB Six Sigma or Advance Manufacturing Process Analysis
- Active part of cross-functional product development projects
- Worked with Quality management and lived a data & quality driven Manufacturing culture
- Composite Materials Knowledge, understanding of fiberglass, carbon fiber, epoxy resins, and other materials used in production

- Able to work both at a strategic and tactical level
- You leverage data analytics and influence continuous improvement while focusing on process details and root-cause problem solving
- You enjoy being an engaged part of cross functional product development projects, and navigating/working within large organizations
- You are interested in attracting and retaining top engineering talent with deep technical expertise
- You are curious and results oriented, and you find it exciting to build up an intensive network across cultures and time zones
- You are customer/stakeholder-oriented and can understand the complete business value chain seen from a customer perspective
