Are you enthusiastic about technical documentation and do you want to contribute to the green transition by producing end-user documentation for our service technicians? If you can say yes to these questions, then I have an opening in my team as a Technical Writer.


Power Solutions > Quality Improvements and Processes > Service Documentation

Service Documentation is a department where we produce technical end-user documentation for the value chain of Service. We support our design projects with technical documentation such as safety documentation, scheduled service documentation and repair & replacement instructions. We are a mix of technically and linguistically founded professionals and we are looking for YOU to support us with the extended project scope.


Responsibilities

Your main responsibility areas will be:

  • Create consistent DITA-compliant content
  • Ensure that content is ready for localization
  • Create target audience specific information based on end-user analysis
  • Support alignment, validation and review process for documentation together with relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure full alignment with existing style guide and any other task relevant guidelines
  • Ensure alignment with Vestas-specific terminology and the STE100 standard
  • Define and maintain Vestas taxonomy and metadata

Qualifications

The following qualifications stated are not thorough:

  • At least 1 year documented experience with similar tasks. References required
  • Have a high proficiency level in English, both spoken and written language
  • Good communication skills
  • Interviewing and listening skills
  • Work in a structured way and pay attention to details
  • Take ownership of deliverables

The following qualifications are an added value:

  • Experience with working in a content management system and writing Simplified Technical English and topic-based/minimalistic writing
  • Experience with writing DITA compliant content
  • Knowledge of Windchill and Arbortext
  • Onshore and offshore wind industry products

Competencies

  • It will be required that you are a good planner, and also at the same time can initiate, deliver and complete different work assignments in an independently and self-driven manner
  • Tackling the many different work assignments, you need to have a pro-active behavior
  • To achieve results, you can work in a team or as an individual, hence requiring high collaboration, communication & stakeholder management skills. Besides these competencies you also possess a natural ability to focus on quality and detail
  • Finally, you are fluent in English (technical English) - in writing and speaking

Additional information

Primary work location is in Porto, Portugal. You should expect approximately 20 travel days a year.
