In the Power Systems Integration area, you will have an important role in the organization within Vestas. In Power System Integration we span across being in very close interaction with the market as well as being involved in various R&D activities with external collaborators while focusing on product development as our main goal. AEP & Environmental is a sub-module of the Power System Integration module and is responsible for the design and development of solutions protecting the environment while ensuring optimal production of the power plant. The main focus areas are non-mechanical solutions related to Avian protection (birds and bats), Light pollution (Flickering shadows and Aviation lights), Ice throw/De-icing, and Audible Noise emission. The department currently consists of engineers and developers located in Portugal and Poland.


Responsibilities

You will be the Software functional leader and Lead Software Developer within the sub-module product offerings, and join a global team of engineers, technical leads, and developers. In this role your responsibilities will be:

  • Understand product requirements and break them down to system requirements, and support the break down into stories that can be coded and implemented
  • Work with our product and technology roadmap to initiate and scope the right products to attend to market needs
  • Guide and direct technical developers, but also take part in development activities yourself when necessary and keep up to date on implementation activities
  • Understand and develop the architecture of our systems and participate in implementing best practices and architectural changes and improvements to product offerings and code base
  • Interface to both the field and project environment to provide great software solutions to customer needs
  • Act as a reviewer on code, designs, and documentation
  • Support the project tech leads in maintaining a high-quality feature backlog with estimations rooted in your experience and system knowledge

Qualifications

  • You hold an engineering degree (B.Sc or higher) - e.g. within Software, Computer Science, or similar and you have solid experience with .Net Framework/Core and full stack development

Besides that, experience with the following is an added value:

  • NUnit, unit testing, and knowledge of CI/CD
  • Microservices
  • Web API
  • Design Patterns
  • MS SQL
  • Angular 8+
  • Typescript
  • GIT

Competencies

To achieve goals in this role you will be required to deep dive into coding and implementation of solutions as well as discuss at a more holistic approach on an architectural level across product offerings:

  • Experience working in a SCRUM team or other iterative development methods
  • You should have 6-8 years of experience in system design and product development for industrial use
  • You are fluent in English, both written and verbally
  • Have an eye for detail in coding and implementation
  • Can elevate yourself to see the broader picture and suggest and guide architectural changes and improvements
  • Set the scene for best software practice and encourage a quality mindset within software development
