Responsibilities

As an Electromechanical Engineer (Assistant Lead), you will be joining a team of collaborative engineers responsible for the design and integrity of the Yaw System. • Clarify and align design requirements with all relevant stakeholders
  • Perform Failure Mode Analysis (i.e. DFMEA)
  • Obtain and often modify CAD geometries to match those requirements
  • Set up and implement FE analyses to verify the new geometry
  • Iterate all the above until we converge on an optimal design
  • Create and maintain documentation for the design

Qualifications
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. within Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or related fields
  • Minimum combined 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience with Ansys or Creo
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Scrum)
  • Project Management or business education/experience would be an asset, but not a requirement
  • Experience within other large corporate organizations is an added value

Competencies

In this role, you should be able to:
  • Quickly pick up on the array of software tools and processes we currently use in our workflow
  • Develop innovative solutions to the problems we face when performing these analyses, up to and including the development or introduction of new tools or processes into our workflow
  • Have a good understanding of CAD modeling in order to make small modifications to existing CAD models and efficiently communicate with Design Engineers
  • Work as part of a team, collaborating and sharing knowledge
  • Be respectful, patient and aim to listen and understand your colleagues
  • Commit to expanding the latest developments in Wind Turbine simulation technology
  • Work with complex engineering problems and have a creative approach to setbacks
  • Take pride in initiating and driving technology development projects through a large organization
  • Be proactive, result-oriented and have a genuine sense of responsibility
  • Communicate effectively with different stakeholders
