As a DevOps Engineer, you have the vast opportunity to create a real impact working in our ECSE Team. We seek a highly motivated DevOps Engineer who desires to actively contribute to this journey and unlock the full cloud potential for Vestas.


You will be part of the Enterprise Cloud Services & Engineering department which belongs to the User Productivity & Digital Foundation (UPDF) area within Global IT. We develop and deliver strategies, and roadmaps, and build platforms in our product structure through a business-oriented approach to ensure that we can accelerate our internal developers.

Responsibilities

In your position as a DevOps Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to:

  • Work in our "Vestas Kubernetes Service" (VKS) based on Azure, driving maturity of platform services via implementing software development practices
  • Design and present platform architecture for projects that you participate in
  • Derive Platform needs from business dialogues
  • Contribute to Platform roadmap and contribute to improving capabilities within the area
  • Deliver on automatically build commits, run tests, deploy to environments
  • Provide feedback regarding development or engineering methodologies, standards, and leading practices
  • Maintain and spread the DevOps culture and ways of working across Vestas

Qualifications

You have:

  • Significant experience with Golang or a similar general-purpose programming language, ideally strongly typed
  • Knowledge of software engineering principles and best practices, such as version control using Git
  • Experience with Agile ways of working and experience with Microsoft Azure in a DevOps team structure
  • Interest in Linux, open source, and Cloud Native Tools
  • Coding knowledge for automation of infrastructure (experience with Pulumi or similar declarative and idempotent approach)
  • Basic understanding of distributed systems and container orchestrators such as Kubernetes

Competencies

Working in our Cloud Capability Center naturally requires a solid technical understanding of the cloud. However, a good understanding of on-premises data center technologies is also beneficial as many cloud workloads are and will continue to be hybrid in nature and integrate with on-premises solutions.
