The OS & Virtualization Sub Module comprises a team of highly skilled software engineers whose main responsibility was previously focused on RTOS for the turbine controllers. Now, their scope has expanded to include all OSes and Virtualization within the power plant.

This is a relatively new and exciting area, providing you with the opportunity to become an important part of building a new team and taking technical accountability for its growth.


The Sub modules are organized within three primary domains:

  • OS for the turbine
  • OS & Virtualization for the SCADA and Power plant controller
  • Lifecycle management

As a specialist in OS & Virtualization, you will be part of a diverse and international organization working closely together with colleagues in DK and Vestas Design Centre in Porto.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced programming skills in C and C++
  • Programming skills in scripting languages Ruby/Python/Bash
  • Experience with Linux operating systems
  • Experience in real-time embedded systems
  • Experience with multithreading software development
  • Experience with multiplatform middleware and HW/platform abstraction layers

You should have:

  • Experience with Jenkins, GIT, JIRA, and other Atlassian tools
  • Experience with SCRUM and Agile Development
  • Experience in real-time embedded systems
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols, RTOS
  • Programming skills in scripting languages Ruby/Python
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Experience with cybersecurity
  • Designing embedded software and firmware solutions for Wind turbines
  • Work as a team in a high-performance environment that rewards ownership
  • Implementing full software development lifecycle, including code review and unit test
  • Write well-designed and testable code
  • Be committed to writing and updating comprehensive technical documentation and maintaining software
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Ensuring compliance with security and data protection regulations
  • Be engaged during the functional and software requirements definition

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in IT / Electronics from a premier institute with 1 - 5 years of industry experience
  • Can work efficiently, and purposefully and manage large projects
  • Thinks it is fun to improve your skills in new technologies and projects

Competencies

  • Experience with Jenkins, GIT, JIRA, and other Atlassian tools
  • Experience with SCRUM and Agile Development
  • Experience in real-time embedded systems
  • Experience with object-oriented C++
  • Programming skills in scripting languages Ruby/Python
  • Experience with Dockers
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, packer.io yocto
