Infusion Tooling Engineering - Engineer

The Infusion Blades Process department within Blades Infusion Engineering is responsible for overseeing the entire infusion process, including PFMEA, risk assessments, and defining process specifications and requirements. The team also develops a strategic process roadmap covering both current operations and future improvements with an intentional focus on standardisation and optimisation. Their goal is to ensure process stability and capability, ultimately enhancing overall business performance.
The department will consist of 7 to 10 highly qualified engineers, divided into five specialised teams: Process, Tooling, Documentation, Operational Support, and Training. The Manufacturing Infusion Tooling team will consist of 2 to 3 engineers.
Responsibilities
- Define and optimise tooling requirements and specifications for the blade infusion process
- Develop and improve tools currently in use, ensuring alignment with modern production technologies
- Support supplier management, tool delivery (TPM), and maintenance strategies including EAM
- Contribute to building a culture of innovation, excellence, and responsibility
- Investigate and resolve production issues using structured problem-solving tools like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and FMEA
- Apply Lean principles to facilitate continuous improvement, reduce waste, and enhance product quality
- Maintain focus on SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) to support overall business performance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- Certified in Green Belt Six Sigma or equivalent process analysis training
- Around 5 years of experience in tooling or similar engineering roles
- Skilled in tool development and defining functional tooling requirements
- Experienced in creating maintenance plans and contributing to tooling projects
- Familiar with working in data-driven manufacturing environments
- Effective at improving processes and ensuring standardisation using Lean and Six Sigma tools
Competences
- Skilled in developing or specifying tooling functions for blade handling, including quality control and process monitoring equipment
- Solid understanding of automation in manufacturing to enhance product quality and efficiency
- Willing to work hands on in the factory to identify and solve production challenges
- Experienced in designing equipment that complies with CE marking, safety regulations, and sustainability standards
- Proficient in root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving using tools like 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagrams
- Knowledge of composite materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and epoxy resins, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
- Collaborative, self-motivated, and customer-focused, with a commitment to learning and cross-functional teamwork
