The Deputy Technical Project Manager, Offshore Wind will work closely with the Technical Project Manager on a daily basis to supervise the technical aspects of complex, high value offshore wind projects in North America, and support the Technical Project Manager in ensuring that technical aspects of the projects are delivered on-time, to budget, and to the required safety and quality standards.
The Deputy Technical Project Manager must have both technical knowledge and organizational skills that can be used in working with international, multi-disciplinary teams, and must demonstrate support, co-ordination, oversight, interfacing, tracking & control, risk identification, escalation, project requirements and priority focus as it relates to their daily responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Support the Technical Project Manager in serving as the technical interface between internal and external key stakeholders including but not limited to turbine R&D, Project Managers, and a variety of project sponsors and stakeholders across the organization.
Assist and support the Technical Project Manager in terms of ensuring an understanding of the technical scope with the project team, coordinating technical deliverables, and providing support through all stages of the construction project for technical issues that might arise.
Serve as delegated authority to act on behalf of the Technical Project Manager during internal meetings when the Technical Project Manager is not in attendance.
Substitute the Technical Project Manager towards the Customer during periods that the Technical Project Manager is unavailable.
Assist in maintaining a close dialogue with the Installation Manager, Commissioning Manager and Pre-installation Project Manager to provide support on any technical issues which arise and ensure alignment on any relevant points.
Effectively improve the project by avoiding, minimizing, or eliminating technical interface issues in advance.
Identify and supervise technical risks and dependencies, in coordination with the Technical Project Manager.

Co-ordinate technical deliverables before submitting to the customer and ensure the technical deliverables meet all customer and contractual requirements.
Support the Technical Project Manager in the reporting of progress on technical issues to key stakeholders.
Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure all reporting requirements are met on time and to the required quality.
Coordinate lessons learned session between projects and bid management, including maintaining lessons learned register with relevant internal stakeholders.
Accountable to uphold Vesta’s quality and safety programs.
All other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Project Management, or other related field or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.
3 years of Offshore Wind experience required.
3 years of project management experience required in energy, renewable, or oil and gas fields.
Experience with construction of wind energy or similar projects preferred.
Ability to understand and complete the requirements of the business contract.
Solid social and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of business units in a global organization.
Proven proficiency in analysis, problem solving, and risk management competencies.
Ability to develop and facilitate positive relationships among internal leadership and external providers.
Ability to operate effectively in a significant, ever-growing, and results-oriented environment; handle constant change with ease and flexibility. Highly organized and able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
