The Customer & Contract Management department in Portugal plays a critical role in the Service Iberia department. The Service Iberia department is a skilled team of more than 600 colleagues who, daily, ensure the delivery of high-quality wind turbine services to our customers. The Customer & Contract Management department is responsible for ensuring a high customer experience and advanced contract management and provides a great platform for professional and personal growth in a high pace environment.


Responsibilities
As a Contract Management Team Leader, you will lead and support the Contract Management Team (currently 3 Customer Support Engineers) and be responsible for the outcomes and prioritization of Contract Management tasks. In addition, you will handle individual service contracts and act as a "playing coach" for the Contract Management team. You will be part of the Customer & Contract Management Leadership Team and are expected to contribute to shaping the vision and roadmap for the wider department.
The Contract Management Team is responsible for:

  • Supporting the Service team and work closely with the Vestas Legal & Sales department
  • Providing summaries of contractual obligations to internal stakeholders
  • Interpreting and advising the Service team about the content and interpretation of the contract in terms of scope, obligations, rights, and remedies
  • Reviewing incoming communications from the customer/contractors
  • Drafting routine notices, submissions, and communications to be submitted in accordance with the contract term and in coordination with the Service team
  • Supporting negotiation and drafting of settlement agreements with customers, to optimize the resolution of disputes under the relevant agreements
  • Supervising an overview of defect claims, and coordinate evaluation and resolution of such claims with other departments
  • Create customer intimacy improving our partnership with key customers

Qualifications

  • Educational background at bachelor's or master's level within a legal, commercial, or technical field
  • Experience from the wind industry
  • A solid commercial and business insight
  • 5 years' experience in wind or heavy construction industries is appreciated
  • Substantial commercial and contract administration experience
  • Broad knowledge of the types and structure of the contracts in construction and energy industries (e.g., FIDIC)
  • Claims management experience, with in-depth knowledge of extension of time and costs and warranty claims, etc.
