Within Vestas Wind Systems, the NCE Construction department is to deliver the construction projects within the Northern and Central Europe (NCE) region safely, within budget, on time and to the required quality. Within NCE Construction the department Installation & Commissioning (I&C) is responsible to pre-install, install and commission wind turbines both on- and offshore in the region.
Below I&C, there is a department called Execution Quality, Integration & Excellence, in which this team is anchored. The team Offshore Product Readiness, Site Concepts & Site Support is responsible to deliver technical support to the execution teams on the different offshore construction sites in NCE. The support is delivered from both back-office and on site, and currently consist of 12 highly motivated engineers. Next to being the appointed leader of this team, you are also part of the Execution Quality, Integration & Excellence management team, where together with your peers you will build on a team to support the future growth of NCE Construction.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for own department and employees, considering their impact on other parts of the value chain by delivering technical support
  • Drive and build a safety culture within your team and on construction sites
  • Take responsibility for department deliverables, delegating work as needed
  • Guide decisions on employment conditions and staffing arrangements in collaboration with local P&C business partners
  • Oversee the budget in your department, ensuring cost consciousness and adherence to approved site budgets
  • Provide clear direction to your engineering team during pre-construction and construction phases
  • Lead, facilitate, and deliver results through operational and tactical decisions, focusing on KPI targets

Qualifications

  • 5+ years leading engineers or project managers in technical support functions
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Familiarity with management principles and people leadership
  • Experience in distance management, planning and coordinating remotely
  • Preferred knowledge of wind turbines
  • General understanding of high-level construction processes
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written) and confident in using Microsoft Office

Additional information

Primary work location: Any location in Germany, Poland or Denmark
This role includes some days of travel per month to one of the other offices for monthly management meetings and construction site visits in NCE.
