You will be a part of NVH & Verification, which is a department within Vestas Power Solutions. The Power Solutions team in Porto and Chennai build and add capacity and capability to the global engineering organization. Working together with the other Power Solutions team in Denmark, Germany and UK, Chennai and Porto Engineering Centers focus on the research and development and engineering support spanning all of Vestas' product portfolio. With a broad engineering capability spanning all engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, controls, software, data analytics, these centers strengthen the global R&D setup, within a creative and progressive environment.


Responsibilities
As Lead Engineer - Powertrain Verification your key responsibilities and tasks will be:

  • Development of testing methods for Powertrain Systems. Activities will involve all facets of development of testing methods, specifications and processes centered on project
  • Delivery of work packages and technical solutions to the entire Powertrain system area
  • Ensure powertrain system and its components meet our expectations with regards to design requirements
  • Collaboration with external partners such as research institutes and suppliers
  • Planning, implementing, evaluating, and reporting your developments as input to the design and verification activities of our wind turbine product platforms; within On- and Offshore projects
  • Prepare project deliverables for technical reviews. Support in defining set-ups and procedures for physical testing on test benches and turbines
  • Continuously update the methods based on test rig, field measurements, and new developments together with internal and external partners

Qualifications
Your qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in drive technology (gears, bearings etc) and development of failure modes-based testing methodologies (functional testing, integration, reliability, etc) of mechanical and electrical rotating machinery
  • Experience with stakeholder management at different organisational levels
  • Experience in technical project management

Your work location will be our office in Dortmund, Germany.
Up to 25 travel days per year.
