Lead Software Engineer

Position: Vestas Technology & Operations > Research & Development (R&D) > Turbine Control Software Module
Are you an experienced software development engineer who always looks for improvements in the way things are done? Have you previously guided groups to expand and develop? Then you are the engineer that we are looking for to join our software department.
Your responsibilities will cover:
- Collaborate closely with software developers in the team and with the stakeholders in your functional area and participate in full project lifecycles using Agile practices for the software development.
- Engage during the functional and software requirements definition of the turbine's control systems.
- Write and update comprehensive technical documentation and maintain software functionality, and be responsible for developing and maintaining our control systems for the various hardware components of the turbine.
- Develop high-quality software in an engaging and complex domain and have full life-cycle ownership of the functionalities you produce.
- Engage in root cause analysis to identify potential turbine performance issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes, software, and tools.
- Verify the solution on all levels, including software tests (in-house) and field verification.
- Document and present your work in a precise way to your internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of working experience with software development.
- Extensive development experience with modern C++.
- Object-oriented & state-based software design.
- Software architecture and design patterns.
- Experience in real-time embedded systems in the machine control domain, hands-on experience with product or technology development, and experience with SCRUM and Agile Development.
- Understanding of Continuous integration solutions with e.g. Git, Jenkins, Atlassian suite.
