The Head of Direct Procurement, SE Asia and ANZ, will supervise the regional procurement team, identify, and develop new local direct suppliers and define cost out and localization opportunities.
Furthermore, it is expected that the Head of Direct Procurement, SE Asia and ANZ will develop and implement new initiatives to support the growth and profitability aspirations of Vestas in the APAC region through collaboration with key stakeholders and suppliers.
Working closely with the Regional COO extended Management team, Global extended Procurement Management Team, the Head of Direct Procurement NE Asia and global category teams, the Head will deliver on the set milestones linked to cost, quality, delivery, innovation, and safety/sustainability from the suppliers.
Developing the organization and people capabilities is an important part of the role related to the expectations on the Procurement function with substantial cross functional engagements, multiple stakeholders, and high business impact.
Responsibilities
Following the creation of the above-mentioned foundation the Head of Direct Procurement, SE Asia and Pacific will be responsible for finetuning regional Direct Procurement activities in APAC and empower the region to the next level.
This will include task such as:
- Establish and maintain a winning Regional Direct Procurement organisation
- Build our supply chain for direct materials out of India
- Set and implement regional targets and budgets
- Provide Direct Procurement input to sales in SE Asia and Pacific enabling them to win deals
- Regional Market intelligence
- Early engagement and deliver on business expectations in the region
- Ensure identification of new potential suppliers
- Supervise Supplier Selection and supplier performance monitoring in the region
- Ensure regional supplier assessment and qualification
- Ensure Direct Procurement Governance, principals and processes are adhered to.
- Be the main motivation and global business critical projects.
- Ensure ongoing performance management including setting performance benchmarks and providing monitoring and feedback to reach targets
- Develop leadership mindset, capabilities, and functional relevant skills within unit, recruit quality expertise for the organization and ensure optimal alignment of expertise to meet business milestones
Qualifications
- English is understood fluently, both orally and in writing.
- Degree in Engineering, for instance Mechanical
- Experience Level 20 to 25 years supplemented with supply chain and Direct Procurement experience.
- Experience with leadership from a global EPC/manufacturing company.
- Previous experience with with practical value chain optimization, identifying and innovating cost-out initiatives.
- Building relationships with key suppliers to find additional savings e.g., by choosing one partner to achieve fully shared value chain and cost-out initiatives.
- Documented history of building ever-growing organizations and be an experienced executive with significant business experience, ideally gained in a business of similar complexity as Vestas covering multiple locations and operationally diverse functions.
- Management and situational leadership in a matrix organization with global customers, business units and globalized support functions.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and developing skill and building and establishing teams across a large and diverse global organization.
- Demonstrated ability to develop a strategy, communicate a compelling vision and engaging the organization.
- Experienced in handling the main cultures in this geography

- Get close and develop key partnerships with suppliers, understand their direction and market needs, supervise effective negotiations from the front, and be the catalyst to motivate the organization from a commercial aspect.
- Coordinate business initiatives that will motivate the organization/team to achieve stretched business goals.
- Building innovative function, The Head will be expected to strengthen and grow the organization by:
- Communicating a compelling and inspiring vision for the business to the organization that motivate leaders and staff equally.
- Identifying, assessing and, if needed, recruiting qualified leaders able to deliver on the company growth plans across the region.
- Building the organization's capability to best practice across businesses and countries.
- Empowering cement the organization culture across the region and encourage employee engagement.
