Wind and Site evaluation is a critical step in the Wind Power Plant sales process for Vestas. This position has an important part in identifying and quantifying technical risks of wind power projects, and generating and capturing value through innovative customized technical solutions. This is your opportunity to work with a global specialist who will offer industry developing training and technology within a flexible working environment.
You will be responsible from Wind & Site supporting the value engineering phase in the sales process. Your focus will be on the value adding high quality statistical analysis as well as project layout design, load assessments, and associated customer support. The main location is in Chennai, India.
Responsibilities
Optimize/review the innovative design of Wind Power Plants, load analysis and best in class wind resource assessments
Preparing both internal and external reports
Review reports delivered from the team and participate in stakeholder meetings. Work with regional teams to ensure early stage planning
Submit proposals for tools/process enrichments to stay ahead in the market
Specialist research / advice on complex technical issues
Interface with the Corporate R&D department
Product Managers and Load Managers
Develop team competencies by mentoring and training of wind and site team
Qualifications
Bachelor's / Masters degree in Mechanical / Aerospace / Similar engineering
Minimum of 6+ years of experience with background in in wind resource assessment- sales support
Fluent and clear in written and spoken English
Expertise with industry specific software applications such as WAsP, windPRO, and Flex5. Experience in SQL MATLAB, R, SQL, LaTeX, Python and HTML
Experience with IEC 61400-12-1 standard and completion of power performance testing
Experience supporting commercial negotiations
Experience completing financial analysis of proposed wind power and ancillary systems

Great communication skills and experience working with wind turbine manufacturers, consultants or developers
This position will assist in shaping strategic direction for Wind and Site engineering
Position will assist in developing policies, programs, and processes for a complex and frequently changing technical environment
This position must remain focused and alert to the changing elements related to this complex field
Efficient leadership skills
Ability to travel in support of customer needs and overall business requirements
Willing to work under different time shifts
