Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VTO, you'll find our department, Electrical, as part of Supplier Quality & Development.
Our department is responsible for ensuring quality, safety, and environmental excellence across various supplier categories while adhering to Vestas' standards and processes. The position involves supporting both strategic and operational development of critical suppliers worldwide, including conducting audits, supplier assessments, and implementing key QSE improvement projects. A core focus is on enhancing supplier performance, promoting zero-incident operations, and reducing non-conformities throughout the supply chain.
Responsibilities
As the leader of the Global Electrical Supplier Quality and Development (SQD) team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all related activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Formulate and deploy the Vestas Quality Strategy for external suppliers under Global Supplier Quality, ensuring alignment with key business functions
- Engage and involve stakeholders across global and regional organizations to achieve desired business outcomes
- Ensure that the team's goals, departmental goals, and functional plans are in sync with overall business strategies
- Prepare executive-level reports and participate in business, SQD management, and Module Ownership Team review meetings when necessary. Define key tasks and priorities while ensuring appropriate resource allocation to meet business priorities
- Oversee and control supplier quality performance in areas such as Converter-Electronics and Control Hardware Modules
- Encourage a collaborative atmosphere that supports knowledge sharing and the advancement of new ideas at every level of the workforce
- Build and guide the Electrical SQD team, setting clear priorities and ensuring professional growth to achieve business impact
Qualifications
We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical preferred), although all technical academic degrees will be considered
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in supplier quality management within manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environments. Experience in industries such as Automotive, Wind Energy, Machinery, or Defense/Aerospace is beneficial
- Established proficiency in team leadership and management
- Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and leading process improvement projects
- Experience with ISO standards (9001, 45001, and 14001) and a solid understanding of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and processes (e.g., APQP/PPAP, VDA 6.3, VDA 6.5)
- Fluency in English, both verbal and written

- Proactively seeks ways to enhance supplier quality strategies and processes, anticipating challenges and identifying opportunities for growth
