Responsibilities

We are looking for an environmental engineer to be the main point of contact for the module ownership teams to enable them to achieve their sustainability targets. You will have the opportunity to define, implement and promote sustainability initiatives throughout the entire turbine value chain.

  • Monitor and review the module sustainability targets.

  • Support and prioritise module sustainability initiatives.

  • Collaboration with module ownership teams, including procurement, design, service etc.

  • Facilitate the implementation of Eco-Design and Circular Design within the Vestas product execution processes.

  • Conduct module training on Eco-Design and Circular Design.

  • Modules support environmental assessments.

  • Oversee the development of tools that will assist the modules with sustainability performance monitoring and improvements.


Qualifications

The role requires you to have a good understanding of how engineering design can impact the sustainability of a product. To be able to take this theory and turn it into reality with our design engineers.

  • Relevant master's degree in environmental studies, engineering or similar, for instance, with sustainability experience.

  • 2–5 years of work experience within sustainability & life cycle assessment of the full value chain.

  • Holistic and encompassing knowledge of sustainability and environmental issues.

  • Knowledge of Eco-Design, Circular Design and their application.

  • Good project management skills, with an understanding of the stage-gate product development process.

  • Knowledge of wind turbine products, materials, and value chains would be beneficial.

  • Some experience in the creation of training materials/courses.

We are looking for someone who can improve existing design processes and models by bringing in new sustainable concepts through the use of environmental engineering data & trade-offs. You should be able to both support the module ownership teams in this journey and also ensure the achievement of our goals.
