As an Electrical Technical Lead, you’ll oversee the Low Voltage Electrical package; from concept to validation, ensuring seamless integration across modules and developing key design solutions with an innovative approach.

Vestas Technology & Operations is the R&D function of Vestas. Through innovation, development, and continuous improvement, we develop the products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and Vestas. Within the Vestas Technology & Operations business unit, the department Control Hardware Module is responsible for the design and development of Low Voltage control panels and the control system across various sections of Wind Turbine.

You will be part of the Module Tech Lead and Integration group, responsible for delivering the complete Low Voltage Electrical package, which includes the design and development of LV control panels, cables, electronics, and sensors used on different applications/sections across the Wind Turbine. You will be deeply involved in the process of Modular Architecture development together with Technical Management in both Internal and cross-function modules.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Ownership: Undertake the delivery of the Low-Voltage Electrical package from concept to final product validation according to the Vestas execution model.
  • Primary Technical Contact: Facilitate technical solutions across modules and product leads, collaborating closely with Tech management and Submodule TLs.
  • Key Stakeholder in Planning: Support Level B and Level C planning, assisting the Project Manager and Submodule Tech leads.
  • Design and Change Management: Finalize module design requirements, oversee space claims, interfaces, and change management.
  • Documentation and Risk Management: Prepare and mature design descriptions, verification plans, risk assessments, and cost overviews throughout the project.
  • Technical Support and Issue Resolution: Provide technical expertise to submodules, manage risks and dependencies, support manufacturing on prototype builds, and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Continuous Improvement: Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, participate in integration tests and component validations, facilitate lessons learned, and identify and validate technical/process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Electrical / Similar engineering specialization.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in electrical design and project execution, with a preference for candidates with experience in the wind/energy industry, particularly with wind turbine generators (WTGs).
  • Hands-on experience with tools like DFMEA, Creo view, and Windchill (ETAP - would be an added advantage).
  • Experience in handling ECM (engineering change management) along the product life cycle.
  • Knowledge of International standards such as IEC, UL, etc., preferably IEC 60204-1 Machine directive.
  • Basic knowledge of EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) design and testing requirements.
  • Experience in the product development process, including complete design and lifecycle management, with proven expertise in stakeholder management across the full value chain.
  • Progressive, self-motivated with a positive mindset and "can-do" attitude.
  • Willing to take ownership with an investigative mindset.
  • Good critical thinking abilities.
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams and cooperating with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Good communication skills - fluent in both verbal and written English.
  • Professional engagement, able to identify and solve problems with autonomy.

The primary work location is Aarhus, Denmark.
