The offshore execution team is anchored within NCE Installation & Commissioning consisting sub-departments of Pre-Installation, Installation and Commissioning.
Commissioning Project Management also incorporates the Electrical Operations Safety Team.
The Vestas Standards for Control of Hazardous Energy including Wind Turbine Safety Rules & Electrical Network Safety Rules specifies the minimum requirements for controlling hazardous energy and creating safety from the systems via a safe system of work. Hazardous Energy is defined as any energy inclusive of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical, thermal, gravitational & rotational force that could cause injury or harm to personnel.

To continuously develop our Electrical Operations Safety Team, strengthen our vision and growth plans for the future, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Electrical Operations Safety Specialist or Engineer to join us.

Responsibilities
  • Championing health, well-being, environment & safety, with a robust understanding of construction regulations, advocating for a safety-first culture on site
  • Champion the Vestas values of Simplicity, Collaboration, Accountability and Passion ensuring genuine communication skills with all your stakeholders
  • Ensuring the Vestas Control of Hazardous Energy and Electrical Safety standards are implemented, enforced and maintained. Including the approved locks, tags, tools and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as outlined within Standards
  • Taking lead to create, review, approve and maintain associated lock out instructions & Approved Written Procedures, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and any associated site task work instructions
  • Promoting the Hazardous Energy Program safety phrase of “Lockout before work & Test before touch” you are representing the role of Energy Control Coordinator (ECC) & Authorising Engineer (AE)
  • Guiding project management with the appropriate trainings and instructions required for all works associating Hazardous Energies! Such works shall only be performed by appropriately trained and Qualified Persons in associated energies
  • Support continuous growth and development of the Electrical Operations Team by supporting new initiatives and embracing change inwardly to the department and outwardly to our stakeholders


Qualifications
  • HND/HNC or equivalent education with a minimum 5 years certified practice as Electrical Engineer (Electrician) with a working knowledge of mechanical engineering and/or Mechanical Engineer (Mechanic) with a working knowledge of electrical engineering
  • Comprehensive knowledge in Operations of Electrical Installations standard EN50110 (Part-1) General Requirements and (Part-2) National Annexes with a focused understanding of sections (6) Denmark-DK, (10) Germany-DE, (20) Netherlands-NL, (22) Poland-PL, and (30) United Kingdom-UK
  • General to advanced knowledge of Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) 4th Edition, Electricity at Work Regulations and other relevant Wind industry technical & operational experience is an advantage
  • General understanding for Industrial systems, installations and equipment with an advanced knowledge in how to read & follow Pipe & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) and Reference Designation Systems - Power Plants (RDS-PP).
  • Previous experience on medium to large-scale projects, adept to working cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, with experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving environments preferably offshore renewables but open to all industries
  • Familiarity with interpreting diverse HSE legislation at local and international levels, ensuring adherence to legal and contractual requirements across standards, norms, codes of practice, and guidance
  • Proficient in essential PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Fluent in English speaking and written

  • Concise, systematic, detail oriented and persistent. Disciplined and well-organised with a solution-oriented mindset, continuously aiming high for best practices and enhancements
  • Capable of maintaining positive customer relationships and skilled in negotiation to achieve win-win outcomes
  • Understanding and respect for the maritime environment, including coastguard operations, shipping, and seafaring
  • Able to achieve all Offshore GWO trainings appropriate for working offshore to meet and succeed the criteria to pass an offshore medical
  • Familiarity with power generation terminology and language
  • Solid Communication and Stakeholder Management skills, able to map stakeholders and establish priorities impactful on commissioning success

Primary work location: The ideal candidate can be located anywhere in the UK, Germany, Denmark, or Poland
This position requires up to 90 days travel per year.
