Maintenance Mechanic – Power Generation / Renewables
Eastern North Carolina
$30 - 35$ per hour

A clean energy developer and owner-operator is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support operations at large-scale renewable power generation facilities in North Carolina.
This organization develops, builds, owns, and operates its projects long term and has invested over $100M in active energy infrastructure, with facilities currently under construction and entering operations. The business combines the stability of long-term utility contracts with the agility of a small, technically focused team.

Maintenance Mechanic Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance on equipment within an electrical power-generating plant.
- Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair turbines, pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and auxiliary systems.
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on rotating and static equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and execute repairs or recommend corrective actions.
- Support outage work, breakdown response, and emergency callouts.
- Adhere strictly to safety, environmental, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Work collaboratively with operations, electrical, I&C teams, and contractors.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and uphold housekeeping standards.
Maintenance Mechanic Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Work in industrial environments including high-noise areas, confined spaces, and elevated locations.
- Experience with rotating equipment and industrial plant systems.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
Maintenance Mechanic Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or completed mechanical apprenticeship.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience in power generation, chemical, manufacturing, heavy industrial, or military environments.
