Location – Houston, TX (Hybrid flexible)
Job Summary
This Tax Manager position is a newly created opportunity within a publicly traded organization and renewable energy investment sector leader. This is an opportunity to join one of the first publicly traded companies dedicated to investments in climate change solutions within energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other sustainable infrastructure markets with over $14 billion in managed assets. The Tax Manager position will work within a growing accounting team based at the companies Houston, TX regional headquarters (remote flexible 2 to 3 days a week) and be responsible for corporate and partnership tax matters. In addition to excellent benefits and career mobility, this position will offer a base salary range between $145,000 and $165,000 based on experience plus an annual bonus target of 25%. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with 5 plus years of professional experience including candidate directly from public accounting to transition into one of the regions most respected organizations dedicated to climate-positive investments.
Job Description
- Manage partnership tax function including compliance, research, and documentation.
- Interface with investment partners and serve as a subject matter expert and a point of contact for all partnership tax-related questions.
- Coordinate with external consultants for compliance and research related to partnership tax
- Correspond with tax jurisdictions
- Assist in the research, analysis, and documentation of various tax matters
- Assist with other tax department tasks and support tax financial statement reporting, as necessary
- Train and supervise tax seniors, tax associates, and tax clerks
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree, preferably in accounting, finance, economics, or related field
- 4-5 plus years of experience ideally with prior or current public accounting experience
- Experience managing staff
- Related industry experience within real estate or energy sector, renewable energy experience preferred
- CPA certification (or actively pursuing)
- Knowledge of partnership taxation
- Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), preferred
- Ability to work onsite in Houston, TX office on hybrid basis, 2-3 days per week
