Advanced Climate Specialist

Meet your future team
You will join a dedicated and supportive team of sustainability professionals who work across the VELUX organisation, combining expertise, curiosity and teamwork to guide and support our sustainability ambitions. You will be part of the Sustainability Excellence team - a small expert group of climate, nature and ESG specialists based in Denmark and Poland, forming part of our central Group Sustainability function.
The team is highly collaborative and international, partnering with colleagues across functions including product development, procurement, operations, and finance. In this role, you will act as a key subject matter expert, supporting both strategic decision-making and operational implementation. You will also work closely with climate and scope 3 project teams and contribute directly to our global climate roadmap and transition planning.

More specifically, your tasks will be to:
- Develop a strategic roadmap for future climate targets in line with emerging SBTi standards and customer expectations.
- Support the Carbon Emissions Centre of Excellence by providing guidance and recommendations to Scope 3 project teams.
- Act as the climate subject matter expert for the business while ensuring a clear link to commercial relevance.
- Prepare the climate transition plan and coordinate work on climate risk assessments and scenario analyses.
- Monitor, map, and report developments in key standards, including the GHG Protocol, SBTi criteria, and mass balance methodologies.
- Support the delivery of product carbon footprint tools that meet customer and market requirements.
- Provide internal training and resources to build organisational capabilities in climate-related topics.

- Have solid knowledge and experience with corporate sustainability and implementing science-based climate targets.
- Are familiar with ESG frameworks and standards, climate risk disclosures, mass balance approaches, and product carbon footprints.
- Can lead projects, collaborate across functions, and provide training and expert support.
- Possess strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative working style.
- Bring strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Have excellent communication skills and can translate complex climate and sustainability concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
