The role
Stepping into one of our newly created Delivery Partner roles, you'll lead the Digital & Data delivery partnership for one of four business domains. This is a senior role operating at the intersection of business strategy, digital investment and delivery. You'll partner with General Managers, Executives and senior Digital & Data leaders to translate Vector31 priorities and business needs into clear investment choices, outcome-based roadmaps and measurable delivery outcomes.
As the Delivery Partner for your domain, you'll provide a single point of accountability for portfolio outcomes, prioritisation, delivery confidence, investment governance, all the way thru to change adoption and benefits realisation. You'll assess whether initiatives are sufficiently valuable, viable, funded, resourced and ready to proceed, using your judgement and delegated authority to make or recommend decisions on whether work should proceed, pause, be reshaped or stop.
This isn't a purely advisory or governance role. While you'll operate strategically and influence at GM and Executive level, you'll stay hands on leading delivery, mobilising teams and vendors, resolving dependencies and ensuring we land value every quarter.
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as the Digital & Data Delivery Partner for your assigned domain, setting clear delivery direction, decision criteria and governance expectations.
- Shape and maintain outcome-based roadmaps aligned to business strategy and Vector31 priorities.
- Lead prioritisation and investment discussions, balancing business value, strategic alignment, funding, risk, dependencies, capacity and delivery readiness.
- Shape business cases and initiatives and make or recommend decisions on whether work should proceed, pause, be reshaped or stop.
- Challenge demand, sequencing and investment where there isn't sufficient value, readiness, funding or delivery confidence.
- Translate portfolio priorities into clear delivery objectives and mobilise delivery teams around agreed outcomes.
- Identify and resolve delivery barriers, risks and dependencies, escalating material decisions with clear evidence and recommendations.
- Own prioritisation, funding readiness, business case quality, benefits and decision recommendations.
- Drive end-to-end accountability for delivery outcomes, not simply project completion.
- Provide clear visibility of domain roadmaps, delivery progress, risks and value.
- Build strong and commercially sound relationships with vendors and delivery partners, holding them accountable for agreed outcomes.
- Contribute hands-on where needed to portfolio planning, governance, analysis, readiness, benefits tracking and delivery problem-solving.
Who are we looking for?
You'll be an experienced delivery, transformation, product or portfolio leader who has operated at senior leadership level and can confidently partner with General Managers, Executives and technology leaders.
You'll bring strong commercial judgement and be comfortable navigating complex choices involving investment, value, funding, risk, readiness and delivery capacity. Importantly, you'll have the credibility and confidence to challenge constructively, make or recommend difficult delivery decisions and create alignment where priorities compete.
You'll also be comfortable moving between strategy and execution. You'll set direction and influence senior decisions, while being equally willing to get close to the work when that's what's needed to move delivery forward.
You'll bring:
- 10+ years' experience in digital transformation, project or product management, delivery leadership, business transformation and/or technology-enabled change, including experience operating at senior portfolio or function-lead level.
- Experience translating business strategy into prioritised work, investment choices and measurable outcomes.
- Proven experience partnering with General Managers, Executives and senior business leaders.
- Experience developing capability roadmaps, investment priorities and delivery choices.
- Experience owning or leading business case creation, funding, prioritisation, benefits tracking and delivery readiness.
- Strong commercial judgement, with experience assessing investment trade-offs, financial impacts, risk, dependencies and benefits realisation.
- The credibility to constructively challenge senior stakeholders and influence difficult trade-offs.
- Strong understanding of product management, agile delivery, portfolio management, investment governance and value realisation tools and techniques.
- Experience managing vendors, consulting partners or third-party delivery providers.
- Exceptional executive communication, facilitation and stakeholder management capability.
Experience working with technology solutions in energy, utilities, infrastructure or similarly complex operational environments will be valuable.
