About The Role

Vaulted’s Commercialization team leads the strategy and execution that brings Vaulted’s durable carbon removal to market. Our Commercialization team leads carbon removal sales, market development, and industry partnerships across the CDR ecosystem (including CDR buyers, registries, academia, and policy organizations). As the CDR Associate, you will partner closely with the rest of the team to support critical project activities. Responsibilities include:

Project Management and Deal Support

  • Support preparation of materials (e.g. presentations, data packs, and proposals) for carbon removal offtake RFPs/RFIs, and CDR buyer outreach and engagement
  • Manage the development of key grant applications and identify new opportunities for Vaulted to access non-dilutive/philanthropic capital
  • Coordinate data and inputs across internal teams to develop materials for customer diligence, grant applications, and RFIs
  • Support continuous improvement of the CDR team’s internal systems and tools through the creation and maintenance of templates, trackers, and SOPs for reporting, compliance, and grant/RFP submissions

Reporting and Analytics

  • Lead internal data collection on quarterly/ annual reporting to update Vaulted’s buyers on key milestones and progress; support data analysis for customer inquiries

CDR Strategy and Research

  • Analyze market research and track the latest industry news and trends to support development of Vaulted’s CDR strategy
  • Conduct ad hoc literature reviews and deep dives to support decision-making around site development and new waste sourcing
  • Track and provide team updates on active state-level legislation for engineered carbon removal solutions, including state-funded carbon removal procurement programs and carbon removal targets
  • Research and identify new state and federal funding programs for key ecosystems that Vaulted’s target waste partners operate within (e.g. wastewater treatment plants, dairy and beef farms, etc.)

What You Will Bring

To succeed in this role, and to help the company to succeed in our mission, the CDR Associate must possess strong project management skills with a bias to action. They must be able to manage multiple threads at the same time in a fast-paced startup, while delivering rapid results if for no other reason than the planet simply cannot wait. In addition, we seek a candidate with:

  • 2 years of experience in consulting or related field, preferably with a focus on climate, energy, or sustainability (experience in carbon markets is a plus)
  • Strong data analysis/ interpretation skills (primarily Excel) and ability to translate complex data into a clear and compelling story (including via PowerPoint)
  • Strong project management skills and ability to structure, design, and execute projects with meaningful ambiguity
  • Embrace ownership of responsibilities with proactive management and commitment to excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communication effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including customers, business partners, and team members
  • Committed to sustainability with an understanding of the environmental, social, and economic benefits of carbon removal and/or climate change mitigation

Additional Details: Bay-Area based candidate strongly preferred, hybrid position working out of Vaulted’s SF office

Salary Range: $95k-120k (location and experience-dependent)
