? About Vammo

Vammo is building an accessible, resilient, and scalable clean-energy network for emerging megacities, starting in Latin America.

By combining electric motorcycle subscriptions with a rapidly expanding battery-swapping infrastructure, we make clean transportation affordable, reliable, and scalable for the millions who keep cities moving.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in São Paulo, Vammo has raised $100M from top-tier global investors.

Our team includes former leaders from Tesla, Uber, Rappi, iFood, Loggi, Niu, and Jump, bringing together deep expertise across mobility, hardware, and operations.

We are deeply motivated by one mission: decarbonizing Latin America while reducing transportation costs for those who need it most.

The next wave of mobility innovation will not come from San Francisco — it will come from São Paulo.

? Reliability Engineer (Electronics)

We are looking for a Reliability Engineer (Electronics) to help ensure the robustness and long-term reliability of Vammo’s connected hardware systems, including:

  • Electric motorcycles
  • Battery boxes
  • IoT devices
  • Battery swap infrastructure

Our fleet operates thousands of connected vehicles and batteries in dense urban environments, creating unique engineering challenges across electronics, firmware, connectivity, and power systems.

In this role, you will investigate real hardware failures observed in the field, helping prevent recurring issues and improving system uptime across the fleet.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on debugging, embedded systems, and failure analysis in real-world hardware deployed at scale.

? What You’ll Do

  • Debug and diagnose electronic boards used in motorcycles, battery boxes, and swap stations
  • Investigate failures across hardware, firmware, and communication systems
  • Debug communication interfaces such as CAN, UART, LTE, and IoT connectivity
  • Analyze field incidents including:
  • Device offline behavior
  • Unexpected resets
  • Sensor anomalies
  • Communication failures
  • Power system issues
  • Use SQL and telemetry data to investigate reliability issues across the fleet
  • Correlate firmware versions, hardware revisions, and field performance
  • Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations
  • Support reliability processes such as MTBF analysis and FRACAS tracking
  • Develop diagnostic procedures, test protocols, and troubleshooting SOPs
  • Support validation of firmware releases and hardware changes
  • Collaborate with firmware, backend, and operations teams
  • Build Python scripts or internal tools for diagnostics and reliability analysis

  • ? What We’re Looking For

    Background

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar
    • 1–3 years of experience with embedded systems, electronics debugging, or hardware development
    • Experience working with electronic boards, sensors, or connected devices

  • Technical Skills

    • Strong ability to debug electronic circuits and embedded hardware
    • Familiarity with embedded firmware behavior
    • Experience with C/C++ (embedded systems) is a strong plus
    • Experience with Python for scripting or data analysis
    • Familiarity with SQL and telemetry analysis is a plus
    • Experience with Altium or similar PCB design tools
    • Familiarity with CAN, UART, or other communication protocols
    • Exposure to IoT connectivity (LTE, telemetry systems, remote diagnostics)

  • Reliability Engineering

    • Strong analytical and root-cause investigation skills
    • Interest in failure analysis and reliability engineering
    • Exposure to reliability frameworks such as:
    • MTBF analysis
    • FRACAS
    • Structured failure tracking systems
    Bonus

    • Experience with electric vehicles, battery systems, or mobility hardware
    • Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, CAN analyzers, or hardware debuggers
    • Participation in robotics teams, Formula SAE, Baja, UAV teams, or similar engineering projects

  • ? What You’ll Get

    • Join one of Latin America’s most well-funded climate tech startups
    • Work on hardware systems deployed at real-world scale
