The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Manager, Market to join our Commercial team in Toronto.
As a Senior Manager, Market, you will lead the development and execution of Vale Base Metals’ global market analysis and commercial strategy across all first end uses and markets. The role involves providing critical analysis and recommendations for pricing policies, directing market analysts in demand, supply, and competitive intelligence research in Nickel, Copper, Cobalt, PGMs, and PMs. You will collaborate with sales, R&D, and customers to identify opportunities that enhance profitability, while working with Product Managers to evaluate potential customers, determine market size, and align products with Vale’s commercial strategy.

Additionally, in this position you will:
- Coordinate closely with market analysts and other stakeholders to define and continuously refine our marketing strategy, goals and metrics for the global Nickel, Copper, Cobalt, PGMs, and PMs segments
- Provide timely market outlooks and supply-demand analyses, delivering strategic support to the executive team and cross-functional groups throughout the organization
- Interface closely with senior management and other Vale stakeholders to understand the overall business context and strategy, providing recommendations on potential market position and pricing outlook
- Develop market intelligence regarding Nickel, Copper, Cobalt, PGMs, and PMs segments
- Organize periodic commercial and market strategy workshops with cross-functional participation from sales, product managers, and business development
- Work closely with product managers and customers to maintain in-depth knowledge of Nickel, Copper, Cobalt, PGMs, and PMs markets and applications
- Prepare and deliver seminars and market presentations to key customers and at major industry conferences
- Work closely with our sales force and customers to understand their evolving market needs
Education:
- MBA or Equivalent
- 8- 10 years’ experience in relevant field
- Strategic thinking and leadership to define objectives, align resources, and inspire teams toward organizational goals
- Strong communication and presentation skills for clear articulation of ideas to diverse audiences
- Subject matter expertise in VBM’s products, designs, and applications
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in interpreting data and ensuring accuracy
- Proven problem-solving ability to diagnose challenges and implement innovative, actionable strategies
- Collaborative team player committed to fostering positive environments and leveraging collective strengths
- Solid understanding of marketing, sales, and finance fundamentals to support cross-functional initiatives
- Creativity and innovative thinking to generate ideas that enhance products, processes, and customer experiences
