The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Network & Telecom Analyst II to our IT Operations & Projects team, supporting Vale Base Metals (VBM) Canada and International operations in Sudbury/Toronto ON.
This is a permanent, hybrid (3 days in office per week) position, working a Monday – Friday schedule.
You are a hands-on infrastructure professional with deep technical expertise across network and telecommunications technologies, combined with a strong service-oriented mindset. You thrive in global environments, confidently engage with stakeholders up to General Manager level, and act as an escalation point for complex and critical issues.

The role supports both day‑to‑day operations and transformational technology initiatives, ensuring network services align with evolving business needs.
- This position operates in a high‑availability, 24x7 environment, supporting on‑premise and cloud connectivity for regional and international sites, and working closely with business stakeholders, IT peers, vendors, and global delivery teams.

Network, Telecom & Cloud Services
- Support core network, cloud, and hybrid environments to ensure high availability, security, and resilience
- Design and implement backup, redundancy, and disaster recovery solutions
- Ensure services consistently meet SLAs through proactive performance and capacity monitoring
- Lead complex incidents and change activities, including after-hours critical support
- Deliver accurate service, incident, and KPI reporting
- Act as a key liaison between business teams, IT, and vendors; manage contracts up to approximately $1M
- Ensure adherence to ITIL practices, security standards, and compliance requirements
- Drive cost optimization, risk reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco CCNA / CCNP
- Or equivalent network and telecom certifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering, telecommunications, or infrastructure roles within enterprise environments
- Proven experience supporting large, complex network and telecom environments, with exposure to industrial, mining, resources, or large‑scale manufacturing environments preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise routing, switching, wireless technologies, and hybrid connectivity (SD‑WAN, MPLS)
- Experience supporting network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and cybersecurity best practices
- Exposure to Cisco networking technologies (certifications not required) and non‑Cisco firewall platforms such as Check Point
- Experience with VoIP and unified communications solutions
- Exposure to cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft platforms, and Google Cloud
- Demonstrated ability to lead and troubleshoot complex technical incidents, manage infrastructure changes, and support business‑critical initiatives
- Comfortable working onsite and in the field, supporting operational and production environments
- Proven experience managing third‑party vendors, telecom providers, and managed service partners, ensuring performance, accountability, and SLA adherence
- Strong technical expertise in network and telecom infrastructure
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and enterprise security controls
- Experience supporting cloud and hybrid network architecture
- Strong incident, problem, and change management capabilities
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, service management, and infrastructure observability
- Ability to analyze performance, troubleshoot root causes, and drive continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working in a global, 24x7 operational environment
- Organized, proactive, and customer‑focused approach to service delivery
- Fluency in English; Portuguese is an asset
