Interdisciplinary Intern
Biohabitats is seeking ecologically focused undergraduate and graduate students or those up to two years post-graduation with fields of study in Environmental Science, Landscape Architecture or Engineering to join our Biohabitats team as an Interdisciplinary Intern.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills that can be applied to a variety of projects including planning studies, in-field ecological assessments, preparation of design plans, construction documents, materials to support community engagement initiatives and a variety of ecological restoration and planning projects. The successful candidate will work with our multidisciplinary team of scientists, landscape architects, and engineers to support ecological restoration, conservation, climate adaptation and resiliency, and environmental justice work for government, private, and non-governmental organizations.

$25.00 - $26.00 per hour

Location
Baltimore, MD or Charleston, SC. Biohabitats provides a flexible, hybrid work environment. New team members are expected to spend up to 4 to 5 days each week in our Bioregional office.

- Preparing ecological site analyses and planning for a range of project scales
- Conducting ecological field assessments, watershed inventories, flora & fauna studies, wetland delineations, and tree surveys.
- Preparing concept designs through construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conducting natural resources and watershed inventories, stormwater facility inspections, and field assessments.
- Providing graphic communication support for projects and proposals.
- Participating in community engagement initiatives.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to support field assessments under a variety of weather and site conditions.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
