Trade show sales rep
Trades Media Ventures is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sponsorship Sales Representative to drive revenue for our premier event, the US Heat Pump Summit (usheatpumpsummit.com). This is a high-incentive, commission-only contract role designed for an independent professional ready to leverage their sales expertise immediately within the HVAC and sustainability sectors.
The primary focus will be on nurturing relationships and securing renewals and upsells from our strong base of past sponsors. The secondary focus will involve identifying and closing new, qualified prospects within the rapidly expanding heat pump and decarbonization industries.
- Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for a designated list of past and current sponsors, understanding their marketing objectives and ROI from the US Heat Pump Summit.
- Renewal & Upsell: Present tailored sponsorship packages and secure renewals and upgrades, maximizing the revenue generated from existing relationships. 2025 trade show sponsor/exhibit revenue was a six figure amount.
- Proposal Development: Create customized, professional sponsorship proposals using existing marketing materials.
- Pipeline Generation: Research target industries, including HVAC manufacturers, energy providers, and climate tech firms, to identify new, high-potential sponsorship prospects.
- Outreach & Closing: Initiate cold and warm outreach via phone and email to introduce the event, qualify leads, and professionally close new sponsorship contracts.
- CRM Management: Accurately track all sales activities, pipeline status, and sponsor notes within our designated CRM system.
This is a independent contractor position. Compensation is entirely commission-based, offering significant earning potential directly tied to sales results. The commission structure is tiered to reward effort:
- Existing Sponsor Renewals/Upsells: Paid at a competitive commission rate for established relationships.
- New Sponsor Acquisition: Paid at a significantly higher commission rate to reward successful new business development.
General Terms:
- Payment Terms: Commissions are paid [e.g., net 15 days] after the client's payment is successfully processed and received by Trades Media Ventures.
- Clawback Clause: Commissions are subject to clawback/deduction if the client defaults on payment or cancels the sponsorship.
- Proven Sales Track Record: Minimum [3-5] years of successful commission-based or B2B sales experience, preferably within the events, media, or publishing industry.
- Industry Knowledge (Crucial): Prior experience selling to HVAC, energy, or sustainability/cleantech companies is highly valued.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to confidently present to high level marketing employees at major companies
- Independent: Must be self-motivated, highly organized, and disciplined in working remotely and independently.
- Tools: Proficient in using a CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and the Microsoft Office/Google Workspace suite.
- The 2025 Summit just concluded, and we are needing this person to start at least on part time basis as soon as possible.
