What this job involves
This position involves performing comprehensive maintenance, repair, and preventive services on facility mechanical, electrical, and HVAC/R systems. The role requires hands-on technical expertise in building engineering systems, ensuring optimal facility operations while maintaining safety standards and client satisfaction across assigned buildings.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
• Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution equipment, and plumbing systems
• Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility mechanical and electrical systems
• Conduct facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations
• Complete hazard assessments and maintain compliance with safety procedures and regulations
• Utilize CMMS systems (such as Corrigo) to update work order status in real time and document all work performed • Submit P-card receipts daily and perform vehicle safety inspections
• Escalate problems or issues to customers and management in a timely manner
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• Lifting up to 80 lbs • Working from heights and climbing ladders up to 30 feet
• Frequently climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and working/extending overhead
• Working in adverse conditions (extreme cold, extreme hot)
• Driving for long periods of time
• Climbing a ladder with a 300 lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs
• Must be available for call-in work and perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in all aspects of building engineering
• Strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance
• Universal CFC recovery certification (or obtain within 90 days of employment)
• Valid state driver's license with ability to maintain it
• Knowledge of overall system design and applications
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3rd Party Certification in relevant technical areas
• Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration and HVAC
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
• Experience with CMMS systems such as Corrigo • Additional licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction
• Experience in defensive driving practices
• Familiarity with various equipment types and proper usage methods
