The Opportunity & How You Can Make An Impact.

As an Associate Director in the Energy Transition and Decarbonisation team you will play a key role in the delivery of high quality technical and strategic advisory services across energy transition, sustainability, net zero, and decarbonisation. Our Energy Transition and Decarbonisation consultants sit within our Foresight, Strategy and Impact (FSI) team, helping clients to define and deliver their strategic aspirations through technical analysis, enabling and supporting robust decision making and supporting the effective execution of strategic plans, policy making, projects implementation and multi-year strategies for long lasting, positive outcomes.

We embed sustainability and decarbonisation across all sectors through developing net zero pathways, decarbonisation strategies, clean energy transitions, circular economy solutions, energy scenario modelling and impactful sustainability initiatives, ensuring value driven outcomes and impact.

As an Associate Director within our National team, you'll make a tangible impact by:

  • Leading energy transition projects across the built environment, energy infrastructure, renewable energy, manufacturing decarbonisations, net zero precincts, residential, and government policy
  • Collaborating with colleagues across economics, planning, urban design, transport and landscape architecture to deliver integrated advisory services
  • Technical assessments, emissions and carbon modelling, future scenario analysis, cost-benefit assessments, including the ability to work with and interpret large energy and emissions datasets.
  • Driving business growth by building trusted client relationships, identifying energy transition opportunities, and supporting winning impactful projects
  • Engaging directly with key private and government clients on their most important sustainability, net zero and energy transition challenges, delivering evidence-driven insights and outcomes across multiple sectors
  • Identifying and pursuing multi team opportunities to work across teams and business units, managing multi-disciplinary inputs and stakeholder relationships.
  • Mentoring team members while fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and feedback-driven culture.

Technical And Industry Experience

We know everyone is different and bring different strengths and passions with them. In addition to yours, we're keen to connect with you if you bring the following experiences and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualification in Energy, Engineering, Economics, Power systems or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years' experience in energy transition, energy infrastructure or decarbonisation advisory, ideally within a consulting, engineering, advisory or professional services environment.
  • Strong technical capability in energy and carbon modelling, scenario analysis, cost-benefit assessment, and the analysis of complex energy and emissions datasets.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, decarbonisation pathways, renewable energy, net zero strategies and sustainability challenges across government and industry., and energy and decarbonisation challenges across global, national, regional and local scales.
  • Experience supporting the delivery of large-scale renewable energy projects, distribution and transmission infrastructure, or the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors is highly desirable.

Leadership And Commercial Skillsets

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and mentor high-performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and client relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated business development capability, including identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals and winning work.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
