The Opportunity & How You Can Make An Impact.
As a Senior Consultant in the Sustainability & Net Zero team you will play a key role in the delivery of high quality technical and strategic advisory services across sustainability, net zero, energy transition and decarbonisation. Our Sustainability consultants sit within our Foresight, Strategy and Impact (FSI) division, helping clients to define and deliver their strategic aspirations by enabling and informing robust decision making and supporting the effective execution of strategic plans, policy making, major projects implementation and multi-year strategies for long lasting, positive outcomes.
We embed sustainability across all sectors through developing net zero pathways, decarbonisation strategies, clean energy transitions, circular economy solutions, energy scenario modelling and impactful sustainability initiatives, ensuring value driven outcomes and impact.

As a Senior Consultant within our Melbourne team, you'll make a tangible impact by:
- Engaging directly with key clients on their most important sustainability, net zero and energy transition challenges, delivering evidence-driven insights and outcomes across multiple sectors..
- Work across energy transition opportunities and challenges across the built environment, infrastructure, renewable energy, decarbonised manufacturing, net zero precincts, mobility and climate policy.
- Collaborating with colleagues across economics, planning, urban design, transport and landscape architecture to deliver integrated advice
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, industry contacts and partners, with support from senior leaders promoting Urbis' sustainability and energy transition offering
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities to work across teams and business units, managing multi-disciplinary inputs and stakeholder relationship

- A tertiary qualification in Sustainability, Energy, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 3+ years of experience in sustainability, net zero or energy transition roles, with experience in a multi-project consultancy environment highly regarded. Experience in the energy infrastructure sector would also be highly considered.
- Demonstrated understanding of sustainability, energy and decarbonisation challenges across global, national, regional and local scales — spanning organisations, industries, government and communities — gained through experience in engineering, consultancy or a related field
- A future-focused mindset with practical experience in the opportunities presented by the energy transition, circular economy and sustainable development. Demonstrated by experience within a consultancy, government agency or large organisations
- Hands-on experience in technical assessments, emissions modelling and future scenario analysis, including the ability to work with and interpret large energy and emissions datasets.
- Strong ability to prepare and present data and insights in written, visual and verbal formats, with proficiency across the MS Office suite including PowerPoint
